  • Scheduling

The center will have weekend scheduling to allow for patients to assess when there is less flexibility in their weekday schedule. There will also be direct referral and walk-in availability when scheduling allows. The main goal of scheduling flexibility within BCDC is to decrease patient wait times for diagnostic testing.

  • Dexa Scan

A DEXA Scan (Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry) is gold standard in health assessment used to measure body composition, bone density, muscle mass, and body fat percentage. This scan provides detailed insights into overall health, fitness progress, and risk factors for osteoporosis. A DEXA scan helps track changes over time and tailor nutrition or exercise plans for optimal results.

  • Resting Energy Expenditure (REE)

Resting energy expenditure (REE) represents energy expenditure while a person lies quietly awake in a resting “steady” state. Resting Metabolic Rate is the number of calories that your body burns while at rest.

  • Vo2 Max Testing

A VO2 max test is a maximal exercise test performed on a treadmill or bike while connected to a machine capable of analyzing your expired air. Your test provides data on how much oxygen you use as you exercise and determines the maximal oxygen you can consume during exercise. This is a gold-standard measurement of endurance.

  • Cardiopulmonary Exercise Stress Test

Cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET or CPEX), also referred to as a VO2 (oxygen consumption) test, is a specialized type of stress test or exercise test that measures your exercise ability. Information about the heart and lungs is collected to analyze the body’s response to exercise as normal or abnormal.

  • Pulmonary Function Testing

Pulmonary function tests (PFTs) are noninvasive tests that show how well the lungs are working. The tests measure lung volume, capacity, rates of flow, and gas exchange. This information can help your healthcare provider diagnose and decide the treatment of certain lung disorders.
